- It was very fruity
- It wasn't as robust as a traditional Chianti, however I suspect that this has to do with the age of the wine.
- It wasn't as dry as what I would have expected from a Chianti
- It was an easy to drink wine on a weeknight, comparable to a Beaujolais.
This wine was 9 years old and was stored in proper conditions, however, Chianti's ideal shelf life is approximately 5-6 years maximum. This may explain why this bottle differed significantly in taste. We found it to be quite light and lacking in what would normally be expected in a Chianti.
